Canada Games triathlon team looks to 2009

A meeting of athletes and others interested in helping with any aspect in forming a 2009 Canada Games triathlon training team takes place Wednesday in Charlottetown.

The meeting will be held in room 234 of the House of Sport and begins at 6:30 p.m.

The 2009 Canada Games is open to athletes 16 years of age and no older than 20 as of Dec. 31, 2009 (born between Jan. 1, 1989 and Dec. 31, 1993, inclusively).

A provincial team composition may be three males and three females.

The actual Games competition will include an individual sprint triathlon consisting of a 750-metre swim, 20-kilometre km bike and five-kilometre run.

The second event will be a team triathlon made up of 300-metre swim, seven-kilometre bike and two-kilometre run.
